The Etorus AF System consists of three components:
The Vehicle Identification Unit isa device that is installed on each authorized
vehicle and has a pre-programmed chip with a unique ID number, eliminating
the need for a costly programming unit.
The Hose Control
Unit is a compact device built to withstand any environmental
condition common to petroleum handling equipment. It is designed for
direct attachment to the hose nozzle in a manner that will not interfere
with refueling. The Hose Control Unit is installed on each individual pump
and detects insertion of the fuel nozzle into the fuel inlet of a vehicle
equipped with a Vehicle Identification Unit. The removal of the nozzle
from the vehicle’s fuel inlet immediately terminates fuel flow.
The Pump
Control Unit controls each pump hose independently. Whenever the
fuel hose is inserted into the correct vehicle, the Hose Control Unit
transmits the Vehicle ID via wireless communication from the Vehicle
Identification Unit to the Pump Control Unit in order to obtain
authorization before allowing fuel to be dispensed.
